Now available on Google Play
RemotePhone is publicly released on Google Play. Install it on the Android phone you want to use inside VR, then connect to it from PastePhotoVR over the same Wi-Fi network. This page covers the Android companion app only; it is not a PastePhotoVR download page.
What the app does
RemotePhone is a companion Android app for PastePhotoVR. It is designed for viewing a phone screen inside a VR workflow and for sending simple remote touch commands back to the phone when the user enables that option.
Screen mirroring
Captures the Android screen after the user approves the system screen capture prompt.
Audio streaming
Sends supported device playback audio to the receiver during the mirroring session.
Remote touch
Uses an optional accessibility service to perform taps and basic system actions sent from PastePhotoVR.
How it works
RemotePhone runs a local foreground mirroring service. It does not require a cloud account or a developer server for mirroring.
Local network discovery
The phone announces itself on the local network so PastePhotoVR can find it. The current ports are video 42110, audio 42111, touch 42112, and beacon 42113.
Real-time transport
Screen frames are captured with Android MediaProjection and sent to the receiver. Audio and control commands use separate local connections to reduce interference.
Security note: screen, audio, and touch-control traffic is not encrypted or authenticated. Use RemotePhone only on trusted Wi-Fi or local networks.
How to use RemotePhone
- Connect to the same Wi-Fi.Keep the Android phone and the device running PastePhotoVR on the same trusted local network.

- Android 10 or later is recommended for playback audio capture.
- PastePhotoVR receiver on the same Wi-Fi or local network.
- Network must allow local device discovery and TCP/UDP traffic on ports 42110 to 42113.
Troubleshooting
- If the phone is not found, check guest Wi-Fi isolation, VPN, firewall, and whether both devices are on the same network.
- If touch does not work, confirm that the RemotePhone accessibility service is enabled.
- If audio does not work, confirm that the required audio permission was granted and that the source app allows playback capture.
- If Android stops screen capture, reopen RemotePhone and start mirroring again.
