MINSOL (the “Developer”) respects the privacy of users of Mirror Android Phone Control (the “App”). This Policy explains what information the App processes, why it is processed, how it is stored, and the choices available to users.
Local-network first
Mirrored screen and audio data and control input travel directly between the phone and Quest on the same local network.
No Developer server storage
The App does not upload mirrored content or control input to a Developer-operated server or save it in an in-app database.
Third-party services disclosed
Meta SDK services and an optional Google Form may be subject to the respective providers’ privacy policies.
1. Scope and role of the App
This Policy applies to the Meta Quest version of Mirror Android Phone Control and to optional requests for private pre-release access to the Android companion app made through the App’s connection-information page. The separate Android companion app sends screen and audio data authorized by the user and may be subject to its own policy and Android permission notices.
The Quest App discovers a companion phone on the local network, displays its screen and plays its audio in a 2D panel, and sends touch, keyboard, mouse, text, and system-control commands back to the phone.
2. Information processed
| Category |
What it includes |
Purpose |
Storage |
| Live mirrored content |
Phone screen frames and audio sent by the phone. If notifications, messages, or other personal information appear on the screen, they may be included temporarily. |
Display and play the phone screen and sound in the Quest 2D panel |
Processed only in memory buffers during a connection; not stored on a Developer server or in an App database |
| Control input |
Touch position and gestures, keyboard and mouse input, text entered by the user, and system commands such as Back or Home |
Allow the user to control the phone from the Quest panel |
Sent to the phone in real time and not persistently stored by the App |
| Local connection information |
Local IP address, ports, connection state, protocol and codec information, and packet or frame status |
Device discovery, connection setup, stream decoding, and troubleshooting |
Primarily processed in memory; limited connection and error details may appear temporarily in device system logs |
| Meta platform and diagnostic information |
App identifiers, App usage, device and diagnostic information, and Meta Store entitlement or license results processed by Meta SDKs |
Meta Quest platform functionality, App quality, Store distribution, and entitlement verification |
Processed by Meta under its policies. The Developer does not receive or store Meta account passwords or payment information |
| Pre-release access request (optional) |
The Google Play account email address and any responses shown on the form that a user voluntarily submits through the Google Form linked from the connection-information page |
Register and administer participants in private testing of the Android companion app |
Processed outside the App by MINSOL and Google and retained while needed to administer access or until a deletion request |
Applying for pre-release access is optional. Not submitting the form does not affect local connectivity between the Quest App and a companion app that is already installed.
3. Information not collected directly
The Quest App does not request permission to access the following for collection by the Developer:
- Quest microphone recordings, Quest camera images, or recordings of the Quest display
- Precise location, contacts, call history, SMS, or photos and files stored on the Quest device
- Advertising identifiers, advertising profiles, or activity for advertising purposes
- Meta account passwords, payment-card information, or any App secret
However, this information may appear temporarily if it is visible on the mirrored phone screen. The App does not separately analyze or classify the contents of the screen.
4. Purposes and grounds for processing
- Providing the service: discovering the phone, playing screen and audio streams, delivering remote input, and showing connection status
- Security and reliability: validating the protocol, rejecting invalid connections, and diagnosing errors or performance issues
- Platform requirements: running on Meta Quest, verifying Store entitlement in distribution builds, and improving quality with SDK diagnostics
- User request: providing private pre-release access to the Android companion app when a user voluntarily submits an email address
Live connection data and input are processed to provide the functionality requested by the user. An optional email address is processed based on the user’s voluntary submission, and consent may be withdrawn by requesting deletion.
5. Transmission, storage, and retention
Local mirroring data
Screen, audio, and control data are sent directly between Quest and the phone on the local network without passing through a cloud relay operated by the Developer. The Quest App does not provide a recording or saving feature and releases its memory buffers when the connection or App closes.
System logs
Limited connection status, local addresses, and error details may be recorded temporarily in Horizon OS/Android system logs. The operating system controls log retention. The Developer does not remotely collect these logs unless a user voluntarily provides them for support.
Pre-release email address
Information submitted through the Google Form is retained while needed to administer private testing and access. It is deleted when the purpose is complete or upon the user’s request, unless retention is required by law.
6. Third parties and external services
The Developer does not sell personal information or use it for personalized advertising. The following services may process information in connection with the App or optional access request:
-
Meta Platforms Technologies: Horizon OS, the Meta Platform SDK, and the Meta Spatial SDK may process App identifiers, entitlement, device, usage, and diagnostic information. See the
Meta Platforms Technologies Supplemental Privacy Policy.
-
Google: If a user submits pre-release information through the external Google Form, Google may process the information as a service provider. See the
Google Privacy Policy.
-
External website: The App can open https://minsol.pe.kr/phone/ in the Quest external browser. Ordinary request information such as an IP address, browser information, and request time may be transmitted to the website’s hosting provider when the page is opened.
The Developer may disclose information when necessary to comply with law, protect the rights or safety of users or others, or respond to a security incident.
7. Local network security
Important: The current local streaming and control protocol between the App and the Android companion app does not provide application-layer encryption or user authentication. Use the App only on a trusted private Wi-Fi network, not on a public, guest, or shared network.
Users should verify the connected devices and network before displaying sensitive information. Disconnect and stop screen-sharing permission on the phone when the App is not in use.
8. Device permissions and interactions
- Internet/network state/Wi-Fi state: used to discover the phone on the same network and communicate over TCP and UDP.
- Wi-Fi multicast: used to receive local device-discovery beacons.
- Audio settings: used for the playback route and volume behavior of audio received from the phone. The App does not record the Quest microphone.
- Hand/controller interaction: Horizon OS may convert hand or controller movement into pointer and touch events for the panel. The App does not collect or store raw hand/body camera images or biometric templates. Meta’s device-level processing is governed by Meta’s policies.
9. User choices and rights
- Stop screen sharing in the companion app or disconnect either device to end live processing at any time.
- Uninstalling the App removes its local components. The App does not retain mirrored content.
- Request access, correction, deletion, or withdrawal of consent for pre-release request information through the contact below.
- Use the privacy controls and request processes offered by Meta or Google for information those providers process independently.
The Developer responds to valid requests in the time and manner required by applicable law and may request verification to protect the requester’s information.
10. Children’s privacy
The App is not designed to solicit personal information from children. A parent or guardian should supervise a child’s use of screen sharing and remote control and follow Meta’s age and parental-control requirements. If the Developer learns that a child’s information was received without appropriate parental consent, reasonable steps will be taken to delete it.
11. International processing
Third-party providers such as Meta and Google may process information outside the user’s country of residence, subject to their policies and safeguards required by applicable law. Local mirroring data is not transferred internationally to a Developer-operated server.
12. Changes to this Policy
This Policy may be revised when the App’s features, SDKs, laws, or processing practices change. Material changes will be announced on this page or through the App or store listing, and the effective date at the top will be updated.
